when i was wandering around LAX, trying to find my bags/flight, i saw these people sitting on chairs in a huddle, looking bored. and i thought, why do they get chairs and coffee, not fair! next thing i knew, i was in the middle of a movie set. people dress in black with expensive looking equipment, lights, cameras, the works. okay okay, they weren't actually filming right then, but still.
the international flight from LA to auckland was great though. dinner + 2 glasses of wine + 2 gin&tonics and i was out.
so, i'm still trying to get settled in, etc etc. getting final course approval is all done physically, no electronic registration. basically that means, professors sit in a gym/classroom along the wall and you walk up and actually talk to them and try to get them to sign your sheet of paper. feels like middle school during parent-teacher conferences in the gym.
6.3 earthquake in christchurch today. scary stuff. my thoughts go out to all the kiwis involved.
